Andres Garchitorena is a Spanish veterinarian holding a European Masters in Public Health. Working at the French Institute for Development (IRD) and the French School of Public Health (EHESP), he completed a PhD in disease ecology in 2014 in Montpellier, France. Since March 2015, he is a postdoctoral research fellow at Harvard Medical School (Department of Global Health and Social Medicine) and the research manager for PIVOT in Madagascar. His research focuses on feedbacks between ecosystems, disease and poverty, with a specific focus on Neglected Tropical Diseases and field-based research projects in rural areas of Cameroon and Madagascar.
